Hey can someone recommend a good dentist around Oslo or Baerum. Was thinking I would try and wait it out until I go home but I don't think that's going to fly. Thanks

Huge gaps in both prices and quality. There’s some cheaper ones, but also some truly dodgy ones. Also a lot that offer very cheap check-ups but who will overcharge big time to treat what they find. Personally I like Smil Tannlegesenter, they’re centrally located and super friendly, clean space, very professional, often available on a short notice. Not cheap though. There used to be a list comparing dentist’s prices but it was shut down. You can still look up dentists on [legelisten.no](www.legelisten.no) and read reviews.

I come from a small town in Norway and in my opinion the prices in Oslo are good, because there is so much competition. However, from what me and my peers have experienced, if you go to the absolute cheapest place they will push useless products and treatments on you, so make sure you look at reviews, especially the bad reviews. I personally go to Nydalen because honestly, an influencer that has been recommending many things I like/agree with recommended it, and also they have a student discount. I’m very happy with that one though. When it comes to state support and/or tax benefits Norway is kind of useless with dentistry. (vote for parties who have dentistry in their agenda, Norwegians!) If you depend on social support to get by then I believe you can apply to NAV. Some treatments will also fall on your frikort, though I’m not certain about what kind, but I got some of my dentist appointment credited back once because I have frikort. (I have never had to do fillings or extensive treatments, only x-rays, checkups and cleaning of tartar so I really don’t know where it came from) Most dentists will have a first time appointment discount, student discount, or even coupons from for example let’s deal. Just be wary of them trying to do extra things you don’t need. I’m not an expert and I haven’t been a lot of places here but I hope that helps a little.

My dentist is the best dentist. He's #1 on legelisten (the review site for Norwegian health professionals), is on the cheap side, and is a super nice Mexican guy. Tannlege Bislett (Roberto Plascencia). Careful, there's also Bislett Tannlege Klinikk, and they aren't the same people at all!

Henriette at Byporten Tannlegesenter is very good! And is right by Oslo S, so easy to get to from almost anywhere. But I’ve had a couple of bad experiences with a «tannpleier» there, so stay away from them.

Some of the new chains are a bit way too focused on profit. Getting customers through as fast as possible. Very impersonal. I am very happy with Andreas Gibsztein, now at Lambertseter Tannlegesenter: https://www.legelisten.no/tannleger/13421-yoram-andreas-gibsztein He explains everything he’s going to do and make you feel seen.

I like my dentist a lot, she is at Brugata Tannhelse or something. A bit pricey but very nice people and they take their time. Clean and nice place, very central. Would recommend if you are nervous to go to the dentist (as I am)
