Having had zero success with a well known agency - ( I asked for a middle aged polish speaking woman with experience with dementia) how hard is that to find in our area? They sent me an 18 yo college student, a woman of Hispanic descent and then one of Haitian descent none of whom spoke polish or with experience. After that, my dad nixed the idea altogether which was not good as my mom was clearly in need. I found our original through a Polish "agency" - basically the owner came to interview our family and she found the right fit immediately. I paid one weeks salary as a finder fee and then Irena became my employee. she stayed with my mom till the end --for seven years. It was called Family Homecare inc. out if Winfield -Agnieszka was the owner - not sure if it still exists as I used them almost 10 years ago.

Sharon I'll ask my husband's aunt... they had one for his grandpa. I want to say European Nannies or something like that.

Sharon, I use one agency primarily for all of my elderly dementia patients. They are out of Hinsdale and I prefer to use an agency vs hiring an individual due to liabiliy issues. If the caregiver were hurt in any way on the job, they are covered through the company's WC coverage and also this agency is very thorough with their background checks/fingerprinting. They are All Trust Homecare and their phone number is 630-920-9999. Ask for Amber or Mike (the owner) Also ask if Iryna (one of their Polish caregivers is still working with them and available) She was a caregiver for a client of mine with Dementia for a number of years.
Need references for nanny/daycare provider for Bryce. Nana needs double hip replacement so we need to find some alternatives

Awe I wish we lived closer I have a licensed home daycare and a great group of little ones I have a neighbor who had great luck finding a Nanny on sittercity.com... There's also usually resources for your county when we were in DuPage it was the Y MCA but out here it's a place called 4-C. They keep list of who's licensed is exempt training is up-to-date what certifications are held - Good luck!! I'm sure you'll find someone great
