I need a lawyer I can trust to re-do my trust. It is my understanding that a trust from another state will not hold up in Florida court.
David W. replied:
You need an elder law attorney to read your trust and tell you IF it needs to be changed. Financial institutions are usually pickier than the courts. The Villages have several good ones. Try Amy Pittman near 466/301

Susan Sullivan is the best
Karen S. replied:
I didn't have an attorney. They did it at a State office. I would check with Tax Collection Office.
Ruth M. replied:
Amy Pittman did our's she is very good.
Reed S. replied:
The purpose of a trust is to transfer property from your personal ownership, to ownership in the trust. If you own something in your name, and you pass, that property becomes part of your estate, which goes into probate. If you the trust owns it, you control it, the trust doesn't die, therefore, the property doesn't go through probate. If you want to do it right, go through a Florida attorney. I recommend Skinner Louis-Esq. (561) 704-3539. If you want it done right, do it through an attorney.
