If you get any tips let me know I’m in the same boat currently trying to find a place to stay

I just asked this question a few weeks back - I was actually able to find a few places on Kajiji who even called me back - just send a message with a bit about yourself and your situation. Don't sound desperate, because that doesn't translate well via text. All the ads get a LOT of replies, so you want to not seem like a crazy person, and makes sure you actually read the ads and don't ask questions they've already answered - the first lady to call me back told me about people who would ask about pets when the ad clearly states no pets, etc.

I wonder if it’s because the rental market is so skewed tower vacationers.... try seeing if off season stuff is on AirBnB cheap enough to make it worth it

Parry Sound just had a real estate boom with a bunch of people coming north. Some renters are displaced from an already tight market. And there's been a bunch of fires in multi unit buildings, motels on the old 69 and even the 21 room rooming house is offline due to fire. I suggest posting your own ad on Kiji describing your situation. Plenty of landlords would love to have health care and other professionals but just don't know how to contact them. As of now there's a bed and breakfast with reasonable longer term rates if you like sharing a bathroom and a hotel right downtown at $250/week if you don't. 2 other local motels have been known to discount during this off season (before snow mobile time).
