I've also heard good things about Yongnuo. Even if you do go with the 270 ex (which is what I'm also thinking off) it will always be a great slave when you upgrade in the future. Camerastuff has Yongnuo but do check reviews on the net, especially customer reviews. http://www.camerastuff.co.za/shop/camera-stuff/flash-stuff.html?cat=98. as for bouncing the light, there are diy ideas for that.

Marisa 'eM' Louw, My Metz Flash is the following: MECABLITZ 50 AF-1 digital. It was a lot cheaper than the Canon equivalent and id quiet powerful. I took some photos at an Indian Wedding in Durban while sitting in the Hall using my 70-300 Sigma lens and there was no problems with the exposures.
