It is soooo frustrating. Our group bought 5 fans for the lower kennels because they're so hot. We couldn't connect them (even to plug them in) because the county needed...

I have wrote MANY letters to the commissioners, the shelter manager and Amy E. I rarely ever get a response and if I do there are no real answers to my questions. Mostly a run around. I agree with Darkes Gray. Write to the media. I'm saying in addition to the commissioners. Call reporters. We need to bring this to the general public so they know what is happening. I applaud you Judith McBriar for speaking up for the animals. I know you take a risk doing so as volunteers who have spoke up in the past have been banned form the shelter. Yes, we the public need a meeting. And soon. We are the majority. We are the people the commissioners serve. Let's take action and make some changes for the betterment of the Shelter asap. The paper sounds like a GREAT idea! Lets get that together! Also BayNews9 is great too. I'm not the best of writers but I am good at research and finding emails/phone numbers, etc. And on a sad note, Darkes Gray is right.......I have a lot of shelters on my page, and I see more and more shares on the posts of dogs on the list to be euthanized the next day, and so many shares on pictures of all the dogs that were put to sleep. It sucks to see it, but it puts things into perspective and pushes others to share ! I honestly thought our shelter was a No Kill shelter until, Mary Cascio Gatto Napolitano told me that it wasn't, I didn't know because I have never heard on their site or seen anything about them being pts.

Their also is a great page on facebook called "Gabe to the Rescue" he is a military/avid animal lover, he had the yellow lab that passed away last year that was a military dog of the year, he strictly puts dogs from other shelters on his page and he gets thousands across the US to share and tag rescues and he gets 99% of his animals he shares from other shelters either adopted or rescued within 24 hours. I am going to put our page on his page, if all of you would like his page too we can get more media shares out there for these animals. Here is his link: https://www.facebook.com/HeroDogGabe

Let's do it. Plus I want to set up a meeting with everyone who attends to meet with Ron Kitchen as he wants to speak to all of us animal lovers on all his ideas and wants to hear our concerns. We will need a meeting place in Inverness.
