Dr Claire at SOS is great!
Peadar Q. replied:
SOS is a rip off. If insurance pays for everything then go there, but equally good care can be had for less than 10% of the cost 100 m down the road at Embassy Medical Centre. American Paeditrician and western standards.
Gustav A. replied:
Dr Whittaker yes but he just left Cambodia.
Ramona N. replied:
Does anyone know who replaced Dr. Whittaker at Embassy Medical Centre?
Alistair S. replied:
We moved to Dr Michel SEBBAN and are happy so far. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cabinet-Medical-Francais-CMF/264228523687490
Is there a fluent English speaking doctor here (or Psychiatrist) who is qualified to diagnose different kinds of psychological states and prescribe meds?
Does anyone know a good ob/gyn for pre natal check ups where the doctor actually cares about you?! Thank you! Desperately seeking....
Iam C. replied:
Inconsistent. Yah, am a victim so now am packing my things off to a hope-not-as-inconsistent lessor. lol! Dr. Sothea owns VIP Maternity hospital. He is good. My cousin's twins were safely delivered via CS last year. I was wary about possible nosocomial infection prevalent in here(accordingly) but was glad everything went fine.
Nanda S. replied:
Clare not sure if you checked out Dr Weygand but he's really good. I've had all my check ups with him as well as a few of my friends (foreign & khmer) and all have had a good experience.
Elizabeth K. replied:
Do you have a high-risk pregnancy? Just asking because my doctor in South Korea also told me at 34 weeks that I could come back a few days before my delivery date. I was perfectly fine with it, though, and I had a natural, unmedicated birth and my doctor was great. I don't know anything about Dr. Weygand or about your specific situation but maybe that's not as uncommon in Asia. I was personally relieved because I was tired of appointments at that point!
Charlie C. replied:
Dr Annahttp://www.wbcanna.com/ was great!
Marina K. replied:
DR. Anna Roslyakova
Andrew S. replied:
I recommend VIP Sophea clinic near Olympic stadium. For pre natal check ups and care I could not find better bang for the buck for my two sons. BTW one is 14 months and the other is 1 day old.

Dr. Sothy of VIP hospital is okay. You can pay him a visit then decide for yourself.
Iam C. replied:
Oh yah, here is his contact number 0979700080Dr. Sothy. Go thru Sihanouk and look for Kirirom Cinema or Hennesy. Enter the road opposite that establishment, it should be to your right if you're coming from Lucky Supermarket.
Sunnaline H. replied:
Dr. Weygand of Chetra maternity opposite Deum Kor market is really good too. He speaks both english and french as well.
Will-Karren O. replied:
Dr Win Mumu of Royal Ratanak was my OB. Really good and TLC in handling patients. You can also check the maternity delivery package at the reception.

Dear Dophea Seng, sory to hear that and i know the situation as we have been thru similar problem. Hurry go to Royal Phnom Penh Hospital and see dr. KONG Polrith, pediatrician, ask for brain trauma specialist and make MRI. my son 7 y.o, feel from bed on his face and bumped his upper eye bone on the floor. It turned to blue right away and swallen as big as golf ball. He was not having trauma right away but said tired (it hapened during dinner time) so i thought just beacuse it was late. After dinner, he back played actively, went to school for 4 days, no problem. Until 5th day, he started to get headache and vomited 20 times in the mornig and turned yellow and pale. I hurried took him to Royal Rattanak now is Royal Phnom Penh emergency, did blood tests but nothing, dr saw the lil bluish bumped and hurry made MRI. He got blood behind brain but nonneed surgery. Thy kept him a day in hospital only with IV and paracetamol but he got fever and seer headache no matter what. So, next day they give medicine by IV to decrease the swallen and stopped te headache and healed him by only 1x. Then they kept him another day to do last MRI and found it better and no surgery necessary. Hope he'll get better! Good luck!

@ Alexandra Kurash Speech-Language Pathologist: hello! Sorry, no idea as we are using insurance from France but there is AG Cambodia here. You may Google it. For normal illness, Cambodia is okay but for serious matters, we go to Bangkok which an hr from here. Unless, it was an emergency and we can't travel. Good doctors are not easy to find even Royal Phnom Penh chain from Bangkok Hospital, you need to try each to get the one fit your needs. I once asked an experience dr in Royal PP as my usual dr was not there, thy gave me an expired dr as old as about 80 y.o. with half blind another eye half open without glasses checking my earn mouth with light and asked questions repeatedly and gave a wrong medicine (antibiotic), instead for throat infection he gave for stomach, i found it after i requested another dr as 2nd opinion when complained. But they have equipments and new building. They have some good drs but you need to know which one. SOS slogan is find them if it's emergency, not true coz drs are working certain days and hard to find specialists, i had to wait an hr half to get the dr to come and they refused to accept my friend who got broken head beaten by his compound securities in emergency and they charged super expensive about $80-$100 for a generalist or pediatric depends on days. But they have some good drs that CPN may recommend. So yes, you need insurance to help you pay.
