I am heading to Europe for 30 days, France, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. I need suggestions for Tour Guides mainly in France and Italy. Going to Paris,...

Gaetano Petrillo & Enzo Minopoli. My cousin used both 2 years ago & highly recommends. They are on Facebook & Trip Advisor. Gaetano - guide, sommelier, geanealogist (used for Naples & Southern Italy) Enzo - guide, sommelier, chef (used in Tuscany & north)

Best tour guide (under the sun) is Cinzia Cuttrone from Rome. She has guided Bruce Springsteen, etc. and us! Amazing. You literally 'know Rome in a day'. She is under 'Trip Advisor' Also-Laura Dente in Florence. Her vitality, enthusiasm and love of her country outshines all! Good luck and have a wonderful time!

Sorry, it took me a bit to find the name. Chateau de Bauceel. They are on booking.com or directly www.chateaudebouceel.com/en. Count Regis is amazing, he will sit and have breakfast with you, careful, you'll want to spend many hours sitting and talking with him. If you stay there, would you pick up his father's book for me, I'll pay you when you get back. In driving from Paris, another stop is the Royal Chapel of Dreux. North of Paris, just a bit is Compiegne, a palace worth seeing and a neat town. The town of Beauvais has a really nice Catherdral, but what's so amazing in it is An Astronomical clock (huge). Mount Saint-Micel takes an entire day to visit, wear good walking shoes, it's amazing. If you go to the American British cemetery in St James, Walter is so very helpful, it's a "smaller" WWII cemetery, but the chapel is incredible. His email is benjaminw@abmc.gov. We found the name of a possible relative of one of our friends. The count gave us flowers to put on the soldiers grave he adopted and some for our possible friends relative. The French have all adopted soldiers here and see to it that flowers are put on their graves periodically. We fell in love with the region to the west and north of Paris. Normandy area. If you like mussels, you get a bucket of them for around $10. After Normandy, make your way to Lisieux, even if you're not Catholic or religious the Cathedral for St Therese is nothing short of amazing. I could go on forever. Have such a wonderful time!!!! Oh, I forgot to mention, we stayed in the Marquisee's room.

We never use tour guides. If you have a car, head west out of Paris to La St Michel, stopping at small towns along the way, then go to the American British Cemetery in St James talk with Walter and ask him about staying at the Chateau. It's $160 (cash) a night, you will never regret it. The Count is amazing and the stories from WWII with his dad is something I will never forget. The Chateau has been in the family since 1200's and contains lots of the orginal painting and porcelain. The library is unbelievable. Then head north to Normandy. Don't miss the Cathedral in Reims. A few hours at Lisieux to see St. Theresa's Cathedral is something not to be missed, and her home is very interesting. Driving back east, Wuerzburg Germany, a UNESCO site is something not to be missed, of course, you will will want to take a boat ride on the Mosel. Bacharach has always been one of my favorite towns. St Goar is also great. Lots of Wein stubs along the Mosel with Reisling, Auslesee, and Spatlesse, all sweet white wines to die for. After Wuertzburg, head down the Romantic Strasse to Munich. Be sure to be on the square in Munich at 11 am for the Glockenspeil. I could go on forever, or you can put me in your suit case as your official tour guide. Doug was stationed there in the 70's and knows Europe well, but in the 15+ times we've been there, there's always wonderful stuff to discover. Have such a wonderful time!!!!
