Where do you get your curly hair cut? Helloooo!
I'm looking for suggestions for curly hair stylists within a half day's drive of Portland. I've heard great things...

GILDED FOX in NW. Everyone there is some level of curl-certified, they use all-natural products, and they recycle like 98% of all of their waste (cut hair is made into bags that soak up oil in oceans). I cannot recommend them enough.

Christy at The National Beauty in downtown Portland for Deva Curl cuts. She and the salon are both lovely! www.thenationalbeauty.com

Daniela at vacation club. Dry cuts and it always looks great. I’m 2 c/3 a.

Grace at Holiday Hair Studio on 28 th and Ankeny does a great job with my hair.

You can also look for a stylist who's [devacut certified](https://www.devacurl.com/salon-stylist-search.html) so you know they've had some training cutting curly hair. I had good luck with Hannah at Bouffant in SE.

Haircraft by Jo. Located in Selwood. She just moved here and is a curly hair guru. I highly recommend her! https://www.haircraftbyjo.com

I usually cut my own curly hair, most stylists frown on doing anything below the belt.

Chai at Akemi! I have been going to her for nearly ten years for my Type 3B curly hair and won't let anyone else get near me with a pair of shears. :)
Tidaltoes replied:
Thanks for posting, I'll be watching this carefully! My amazing curl stylist moved abroad so I haven't had a good cut in a year, and I can't afford a lot of the fancy recommended folks. (2 c/3 a fine/thin, low porosity and gets weighed down if you even look at it funny, and Deva doesn't work for me.)
triedtosay replied:
Follow Atoya on IG -- she occasionally posts last minute openings for new clients
Roserose314 replied:
Kiss Kiss salon on N Maryland at Killingsworth. All deva trained stylists who gave me great advice but they don't push you to buy the expensive products or schedule more appointments than you need to.
castellapdx replied:
There is a stylist in Wilsonville that does curly hair. https://bobbilynn.net

Libby Rhoman (Hold Still Now) has been helping my curls for years. She finally got me to understand product but never pushes to buy from her. You’re also likely to be the solo client in the salon on most days, so relaxing!

Josh Lane at One Creativity does an awesome job on my hair. Type 2C.
radiolaris replied:
Stephanya at Teal Flamingo. She’s real good at curls and a real good person.
