Dr Norman Hohl Gold Coast, one of the best GPS (an known for it) on the coast, I was diagnosed with fibro, turns out I had a hole my heart..... had it closed 3 years ago, my recovery has been amazing !! look a little further there are alot of diseases and problems that can mimic Fibro... Good Luck, keep trying:)

For pain management I see Dr Watson at Sunnybank specialist centre. He is a muscular skeletal specialist and he specialises in fibromyalgia and gives lectures. When it was even too painful to wash up, he used a combination of manipulation, cortisone injections and acupuncture. I'd recommend him to anyone.
FIBROMYALGIA A. replied:
Dr Louise McCormack or Dr Peter Landsberg at Greenslopes, same clinic and I travel from Rockhampton <3 Jacqui
Tara C. replied:
Dr Malcolm Ash at Toowong Village Medical Centre, Fantastic with Fibro, he doesn't do "vaginas" being a big flamboyant gay man, but he takes as long as you need, takes the time it takes, can run very late but will never rush you and is experienced. Also never batted an eye at my lying on the floor for consults when sitting hurt too much.
Jacinta C. replied:
Have pm my friend will post back when I hear from her . Centrelink is tricky because you have to meet a 20 point scale . I thinks it's 20 ... And try go off what your Drs write on their form . There is a great dr at deception bay dr Fitzgerald 3203 2644 only thing is she doesn't bulk bill and works only certain hours she is very thorough and the one I'm seeing now due to not being able to go to her often when she doesn't bulk bill is dr Salamat Morayfield medical and dental . Its a walk on clinic and u just sit and wait . He's also very thorough but with auto immune etc so hard to diagnose, hope you can find one that can help hon, know what it's like xo

I fly from Townsville to see Dr Louise McCormack at Greenslopes.
Yasmin C. replied:
There are no Rheumatologists that specialise in Fibromyalgia in Brisbane unfortunately and it will take months to years to see one publicly. I had to wait 5 months to see any Rheumatologist privately (I rang every one in Brissie). The two Rheumatologists that I have seen privately in Brisbane don't seem to be up to date with the research/causes of Fibromyalgia. Dr Helen Broom is a great, holistic GP (Tyack Health-Manly) that is understanding but a lot of her suggestions can be costly and complementary medicine based
Julie S. replied:
Im in Norman Park also and my Dr Anna Mcelrea from Greenslopes Family Practice has just put in a referral to the RBW Hospita for mel to see a Rheumatologist and for pain management
Sharon T. replied:
Dr Ryan Aspley medical centre. I have had FM over 20 years he has been my doctor for nearly 15 years he doesnt give prescription drugs like oxy and endone he has specialised in FM/CFS Chemical sensativtes and most GPs who think FM is a crock dont really like him because he believes his patients and can pretty much tell you what your deficent in by your symptoms and then shows you he is right after blood tests lol He treats as Naturally as he can and he really does know his stuff. PM if you like otherwise Good Luck xx
Valerie J. replied:
if you are willing to drive to the gold coast my specialist is Dr Sharma. he is brilliant. Worth the drive

Hello to all my fellow sufferers.
I really need to find a good quality rheumatologist, hopefully in the Bendigo areas in Vic or I will travel to Melbourne....
Felicity S. replied:
Gemma Strickland from Barwon Rheumatology is fantastic...she is based in Geelong but travels to Ballarat once a month..
Steve F. replied:
Im in Bendigo and see a neurologist in melbourne re: Neuropathy. He shares his room with a rheumatologists.03 9499 5255 located 249 Waterdale Rd Ivanhoe. However if you speak to your Doctor I believe one comes to Bendigo once per Month. Good luck.
Annette W. replied:
I see Katy Over in Shepparton she bulk bills. She is wonderful.i saw someone else before I could get into her I'm so glad she was worth the wait.
Maree H. replied:
I see Dr Marie Feletar in Dandenong... But of a drive I know, but if you are stuck.

Being diagnosed with RA in 2003 and fibro in 2005. I'm and very grateful to finally find Gemma Strickland from Barwon Rheumatology this year. Can't recommend her enough
Narelle M. replied:
I agree with Felicity Gemma Strickland is fantastic. She is very much in demand, so you may have to travel to Geelong for first app. But let them know you would prefer Ballarat and they will put you on a cancellation list for Ballarat. But if the one that comes to Bendigo is OK its the cheaper option. I had to try three times to find a Rheumy that I felt cared, had up to date knowledge and writes detailed letters about consult, so GP knows what's going on.
Sally S. replied:
I live in Mildura but my rheumatologist is in Melbourne. Her name is Dr Sabina Ciciriello and she works from royal melb hospital. I find her good because she tries to look at all aspects of your life and health.

I just saw dr Stephen Hall at Cabrini medical centre in Malvern and I'm pretty happy, none of them can do miracles but he was very supportive and in the long term was happy to be my rheumatologist on record for meds without having to go back. Clare posts,
Hi,
Could anyone please give me the name of a Rheumatologist in Melbourne that deals with Fibro. Thanks
Trish M. replied:
Maria Lastra Feliu I'm sorry you didn't get the help you needed from Dr Schachna. I write a summery of how I have been in between visits and write a list of anything I want to ask. He is very efficient but also polite and answers everything for me. He reads my summery, asks what he needs to, does a" manual check up" answers my questions and does scripts when needed, also changes them if I say it's not working. Visits get cheaper after the first. I hope you find a Dr that's good for you. xx
Rheumatologist Mr Stephen Hall, Consulting suites Cabrini Hospital, Isabella Street, Malvern, He is a associate professor I think. Extremely good intuitive medico. Good luck.

Amanda G. replied:
I've seen Dr Tim Woodruff before Dr Daniel Lewis. He was ok but Dr Lewis is WAY better. More au fait with Fibromyalagia as being a valid condition. Considering Chinese medicine, yoga & dietary changes as part of your strategy against this tricky syndrome may be worthwhile.
