Would anyone happen to know a good veterinarian in or near Athens that charges fairly and provides quality care? I've had bad experiences up in Columbus with ones that...

I highly recommend: Abfall Veterinary Services, 71 S Plains Road, The Plains, OH 45780, 740-797-3344. Great vets, staff and facilities -- they can do blood work, x-rays and surgeries on site if needed.

Dr Allen, is where I take mine, I had to take Jaxi to Abfalls once they asked me at least a hundred times how much money I had?:( it was awful, Dr Allen has never acted like that, he cares

I take my dogs to Ohio Valley Animal Clinic in Pomeroy! Great vets, reasonable prices and honest people. My puppy bailey got hit by a car a couple months ago and we took her to the vet in Athens and they suggested putting her down because there was nothing they could do.. Then we took her to the vet in Columbus and after charging us hundreds of dollars they sent us home (thinking Bailey was going to be ok)- she died minutes after we got her home! Vets in Columbus are all about the money. Good luck!

I like Dr. Allen in The Plains, great people, and great service. Abfall is good, but I never felt the service aspect of his office was all that great. Never really felt like they cared.
