Thai: Koh Noi, Lilliput is consistently good although you can't book. Rajasthan in Penn Hill is v. good for a curry and Jenkins & Sons does good brasserie style food and has a fantastic selection of craft ales and gins! Slightly further afield you've got The Pig on the Beach at Studland & Shell Bay just the other side of the ferry.
