I take Molly to the Port Dover Animal Hospital; Brenda and Laura are both great with her. Their number is (519) 583-2824 and it is located at 312 St Patrick St.

If u think it's something urgent there is an emergency vet on Lynden park Rd in Brantford. They were great with my dog. For everything else we go to Queensway vet in simcoe
Sara M. replied:
Simcoe Animal Hospital. I've tried Queensway and Dover too, and I prefer SAH by a landslide. Queensway is definitely the cheapest, but I felt like a number there, and their waiting room was always crazy. SAH refers to my dogs and I by name, and they are reasonably priced. Dr. Gardiner is my favourite, but all of them are great.
Alan S. replied:
Dr Laura Rodger at Port Dover Animal Hospital is the best in the area.
Cindy M. replied:
We highly recommend our local Dover Animal Hospital. Excellent service, wonderful care, fantastic vets and staff. Have been going there for many many years and our two fuzzie-wuzzies love them. Well, okay, most of the time. Lol.
Adrienne L. replied:
If you feel it's urgent and can't wait till one of the local vets opens tomorrow morning then definitely take her to the emergency clinic in Brantford:Brant-Norfolk Veterinary Emergency Clinic519-720-0753. The address is 155 Lynden Rd Unit 5A.

Colborne vet on Hwy 24 is amazing. Supper friendly explains everything in detail. Wait times aren't long either. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Looking for recommendations for local vets. I work full-time, so I need a vet with extended hours (past 6 pm on a weekday or two). I have two small breed dogs.

We go to Dover Animal Hospital on St.Patrick. They are responsive and flexible. We go to Canine College for daycare in Waterford. Our dogs love having play days there!

Caledonia Veterinary Clinic. Drs Vinnie and Isabel Hetram and Dr Daniel Yeulett.
Jason S. replied:
If you are willing to go to Brantford I recommend Beattie Animal Hospital. When we still had our dog that was where we took him. They're open 24 hours and have prices you'd have a hard time beating to go with excellent service
Shirley P. replied:
Well the one in town is worth a try then Sara, although I don't think they have extended hours. You could call and ask, their phone number is close to mine and get their wrong #'s all the time. lol 519 583 2824 For myself, I have not been happy with them and don't go there even though they are right across the street from me.
Sara M. replied:
My sick dog is very aggressive with other dogs. Even if I had good experiences with Queensway in the past, their waiting room was always so busy when I was there for the end-of-day appointments that it would be a big issue now. One of the reasons why I went to Paris Vet with them was because they have two separate waiting areas, so you can bring an aggressive dog to a more secluded spot. Ski Alot, I'm a bit of a hover-pet-owner, so I wouldn't be willing to leave them for the day at a clinic. If I ever have to leave them I'm calling every half hour wondering when I can pick them up. Poor vets.
Sara M. replied:
One of my dogs has cancer, so I would need somewhere close by in case of emergency. I'm transferring them from Paris Animal Hospital.
Anne R. replied:
I'm was surprised you don't want to go to the Queensway. I have a friend whose dog had cancer and she was very happy with Dr. Plater at the Queensway. I won't ask any questions.... I was going to suggest the Queensway until I read in your post "any vet but Queensway." I have one friend who takes her dog to Colborne Veterinary Clinic and another who takes her dog to Simcoe Animal Hospital (too bad... because of the limited hours). My thoughts are with you good luck.
Cindy M. replied:
That is just great, Sara! Just like Diane, we too highly recommend Dover Animal Hospital. Local and convenient and super hours. Throughout many years, we have always received the most excellent service and help and care. Our doggies are treated absolutely wonderfully by absolutely everybody there. As are we, lol.
Lee W. replied:
Now retired, Dr. Plater was awesome with my girls at Queensway. Recently had a younger vet, female and she has been excellent, very thorough, compassionate and caring. I've had nothing but great service there, even in emergency hours.
does anyone know of a good local dog groomer. one that has experience with long haired dogs, specifically shelties(don't want any shaving nightmares)
we don't want to...

Simcoe Animal Hospital, for sure, Dr. Tracy Gardner is the best!
Diane S. replied:
I go to Simcoe Animal Hospital. A little more expensive than Queensway but much better vets. After a horrible experience with a foster cat I would never return to Queensway. Dr Gardner was amazing when we had to let our dog go this last January. I have never known such loving and compassion from any Vet. All of my furkids just love her
I'm sure some of you will have used the vet here in town. While I still plan on mainly using my vet I'm Milton I need to take one of my dogs in tomorrow for a small...

While I really like Dr. Laura at Dover Animal Hospital, they are rather pricey, handy though.
I have a very sick dog and am unemployed right now. Anyone know of a reasonably priced vet? I usually go to Diver Animal Clinic but they're pretty expensive
