So, unusual situation. My car got towed in the States and they need a notarized document saying my mother has permission to pick it up. Any idea if a Czech-notarized...
At the embassy, yes. Most Czech notaries here will not, though. They are by law forbidden from notarizing documents that they do not understand. So you'd have to find an English speaking Czech notary.
I need to get a document from the British Embassy, translated into Czech and notarized, anyone have any good suggestions where to get this done? :)

Greg Taylor an official apostile is a document issued by a specific office within a country's government that is affixed to and accompanies a legal document authorizing it for use in foreign countries. I submitted my paperwork with an original US notarized copy of my US marriage certificate and "official court approved translation" of it and they would not take it because it was not apostiled. My comment was just for her to make sure whatever document she is having translated is not a type where they require an apostiled version.
http://www.expats.cz/prague/article/prague-relocation/czech-notaries/ "Most notaries can be accessed by e-mail, and you can find a list of notaries at www.nkcr.cz (only in Czech and French, no English version unfortunately), go to “Seznam notářů" and search by name or district (type in Czech, incl. háčky and čárky). You get the complete contact information and opening hours. Also, you can check out the Yellow Pages, section „Notáři“- in there, though, you get only the phone numbers, not the e-mails. "

I don't live in Prague but if the post office is open, then there are CzechPoint services as well...I would assume that any open post office in Prague would also have CzechPoint.
