hello, looking for good orthodontist (braces) recommendations
Arika K. replied:
I had to have a repair done on some glue (enamel) on a permanent retainer and found this orthodontist: http://www.rovnatka-praha.cz/ The receptionist when I went was fluent in both English and Czech as was the orthodontist. The orthodontist consulted on the repair but an assistant did it. They were all really friendly. I spent about 800 kc for it but I didn't use insurance and I paid out of pocket and I hadn't been a patient there ever. Also, I was willing to pay that to get it fixed ASAP. The office is also very modern. (I had gone to someone else who did the repair and spent 200 kc but I had to get it redone) I have no idea how much braces cost though

Hi guys, can anyone recommend an orthodontist for kids? We have Czech insurance. English spoken would be nice but not essential ... Preferably P2, 3, 10. Thanks!
Allan L. replied:
Hands-down best orthodontist in Prague is MUDr. Pavel Tichy - he doesn't speak English, but has a way with kids (and people in general) that is beyond anything I've seen anywhere in the CZ. Read some reviews here: http://www.znamylekar.cz/pavel-tichy/ortodontista/praha-2
David W. replied:
I've got to take a picture of my daughter's orthodontist. I'll bet that'll change your mind, Allan.:) My daughter goes to the clinic associated with Charles University on Kateřinská: http://www.lf1.cuni.cz/en/departments-contacts?sAction=detail&sWorkPlaceID=LF118

Dr. Haerbst in Prague 4 is great - she trained here but has worked many places abroad, including the US. Her receptionist doesn't speak English though... tel 241 733 104. If you look her up on znamylekar.cz, strangely she has some really bad ratings, but I really don't understand them, as she's never been anything but friendly to us.
Allan L. replied:
I don't care much about the ratings. Dr. Tichy fixed my teeth and both my children's. He's got a professional reputation of being one of the best in the country and he is really good with kids. His fish tank needs a good cleaning, but that's the only negative:)

here is a link for dr. eric. he is a great dentist and so good with the kids. http://www.americandentist.cz/American_Dentist_in_Prague,_Pstrossova_10,_110_00,_Praha_1.html
David W. replied:
If you have rudimentary Czech or better, you can also use the dentists on Katerinska. The clinic is associated with Charles University, so there might be some training involved, but they're likely a lot cheaper than private dentists: http://stomatologie.lf1.cuni.cz/en/department-of-stomatology

I am looking for recommendations for a (kids) orthodontist preferably around Chodov (but not necessarily if its worth to go further). Any advise is appreciated!
