The recent FCC ruling had absolutely no effect on out ability to do a municipal broadband network because MA didn't try to prohibit them. That said I'd LOVE to see a fiber network like other areas have done. Comcast overcharges, under delivers, and (other than the WONDERFUL service from Christina) is absolutely awful to deal with.

Thanks for the note Chris Johnson. One can argue that The FCC ruling brought order and a strong opinion on net neutrality and although Massachusetts doesn't prohibit municipal broadband networks, if the FCC had ruled differently then our protection from the state would be more vulnerable. Dan McKeon Community Broadband is a community-owned fiber optic network that operates through a non-profit or municipality. Through a recent FCC ruling the people have been given an opportunity to own their own network and operate it for much lower cost and higher bandwidth.
