Here is a like to tutorials on web technologies. http://www.w3 schools.com/ Since you are on a Mac I suggest TextWrangler for a text editor. It is free on the Mac app store.

Byu IT offers weeklong classes in basic photoshop and I am taking it next week, check it out! Also they probably have a web design class!
I want to learn some basic web design in the Fall. Any suggestions for a BYU class that is worth my time, that won't kill my time?

Check out the Graphic Design Courses. They've been playing with the course numbers, but classes from Brent Barson and Ray Elder usual play with coding/processing. Since you aren't a Graphic Design student, I would email them beforehand and then go to the first day of class to get an add code.

chums (computers in the humanities) 250 ...I took it several years ago, so it might be the dight class chanel was talking about. w3 schools.com has several tutorials - and it's always a good reference. If you want to get more technical, you can do CS 100 (my husband almost always ends up picking the guys with a bit of CS background when interviewing)

Kristen Tenney might be able to help you. She's done some good work, although she's still working on her degree so if you have a tight timeframe she may not be your best bet.
im starting to think there is not a single local web designer in my town that doesnt work in frontpage still ;/
