I_Got_A_Truck replied:
How many people are with you? I have some time before my cinnamon buns rise. If you dont mind riding back in a busted old truck, I got you. Truck does have heat! Just no dashboard.
heraus replied:
I’m so sorry this has happened to you all, right at this inopportune time. In between RVA and Williamsburg, you all are in Bed and Breakfast country, but that actually might be ok and better than a chain. The closest to where you all are is Wallace Manor 804-966-2858, http://wallace-manor.jany.io. and also Gracefield Hall, (804) 966-2193https://www.gracefieldhallbnb.com . Hosts like that may be more understanding and try and find a way to help you out since you are so close and hospitality counts, especially in these times!
HokieFireman replied:
The tow company should have offered you a ride to wherever your car was taken.
MydogisaToelicker replied:
Ask the truck drivers for help? Sorry I don't have better ideas.
RVASnek replied:
Oh shit. I’d find the cheapest/closest hotel in the area. Possibly call police non emergency, explain the situation, and see if they can have a squad car take you from the truck stop to the hotel? Idk, protect and *serve*, right? Sorry I don’t have another suggestion. Glad you’re safe, if anything, and not in a hospital bed right now. Best of luck.
OlGreggMare replied:
804-966-5322 is the rescue squad. If they have a truck up they might come grab you. Op, if all else fails, call 911 and give a weather exposure medical complaint. I'm a medic and wouldn't be mad if you called me out in this scenario
Andie104 replied:
Could you catch a ride into the city with a truck driver?
iwearlederhosen replied:
The New Kent visitors center is across the street. Someone local there might know of a local cab company.
SweetHomeRVA replied:
I'm so sorry you've gotten stranded. What's the situation? Have you found help? Please let us know. I pray you and your family are safe.

OP maybe see if one of the rental places will bring you a vehicle? https://www.expedia.com/Car-Rentals-In-Providence-Forge.d3000460623.Car-Rental-Guide
Asterion7 replied:
Had someone in a similar situation yesterday. Took several hours if calling but finally got a cab company to get them. Roads were better yesterday. I think best advice is keep trying a local hotel. Or ask a truck driver to give you a lift.
gracetw22 replied:
I would find a local 4 by 4 group on Facebook and see if anyone has chains on their Jeep- I imagine the kind of person who has a vehicle equipped for this would relish the opportunity to save someone: https://www.facebook.com/groups/RVAJeepTalk/?ref=sharehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/733015176783065/?ref=share
tmgieger replied:
Sorry, can't help with the ride situation but did want to offer some other advice. You may not be feeling sore or injured now, but that won't be the case in the morning. Start taking some aleve, drinking water, and do stretches (neck, shoulders, lower back).
picklewillow replied:
Like was already said I would definitely call non emergency police and explain. I have been given a ride by a police car when I asked them. This situation may be different.
SStoewe1980 replied:
Some hotels run shuttle services. Call around to local ones and tell them you need a pickup. If within 10 miles or so, they almost always oblige.

I recently stayed at The Clarion (Choice Motels chain). 801 E. Parham Rd., 23227, adjacent to the River City Diner. 804 266-8753 The mgr. Mr. Parekh gave me a senior discount, so the ground floor room was $ 56 per night. It was very clean & safe, & it has an outdoor pool even.

There's 2 Travelodges. Skeeby and Scotch Corner. The Kings Head is a Best Western so you can use club card vouchers if you have any. It'll be more expensive but your taxi out to Scotch will be the best part of a tenner each way.

You would need to call and speak to them. They do not do online reservations as far as I know. Also you can ask to speak to a supervisor and ask for a medical discount too for doctor appt at Weill Cornell
