Megan, I highly recommend Stafford's Pest Control. They are very thorough, and well priced. They have been spraying my house for over 12 years. Leland and David are their best guys. They come once a month, and if there is a problem in between, call, and they'll send someone right out.(760)375-7575

Brown recluse bites are very serious. The skin around the area dies. Definitely invest in an exterminator. I use Clark and they are very thorough. Steve Cook is awesome

I would call Staffords. They have taken care of my house for 4 years and my parents have had them since they started. They are thorough and they guarantee their work. So if you see any bugs in between service they will take care of it that same day or next day. I highly recommend them. They open at 7. (760)375-7575

CCs1941.1 with respect to the living areas, the landlord's obligation to the tenant is only to rent out units that are initially free of insects, rodents and garbage. If the tenant's housekeeping attracts pests, that is not the landlords responsibility. However common areas are the landlords responsibility to keep free of pests, rodents and garbage at all times. My suggestion would be to contact your landlord/manager and request them to exterminate. Most will do it one time, however after that they will expect you to maintain. Then other owners have pest control on regular schedule. Property Owners do not have to supply pest control. Look in your Ca. Law Book concerning Ca. Housing standards. NOLO Pg. 186
