I dislike her also. I made it clear to the receptionist to only make appointments for my daughter with Dr. Abrue because I refuse to see Michalik. When I moved to CA I took my oldest son to her (6 years ago, he's 14 now) and our experience was less than a desirable one. I won't bad mouth her, I just refuse to take my kids to her, so I get what you mean.

Malia Fraser Dr Rollins accepts medi cal on a case by case basis, especially if it is a child with prior health problems and disabilities so she may accept it for you if your son has autism.

My daughter has Down Syndrome and she is sooo fantastic with her, and her large variety of health problems.

Dr Rollins is great, but her clinic (Southern Sierra) will only take medi-cal up to nine months. Or at least that's what I was told after my daughters last appointment. Aside from that, she's a great dr and I highly recommend her.

I recommend Stacey Herrera for photography. She charges $60 a session and you get all rights and pictures on a CD within 24 hrs. She also has a first year of life package which I got for both my boys after they were born. I highly recommend it. Photographer I would recommend Tabitha Armington Quintana. She's been doing our 5 year old since he was almost 2 months old. As for pediatricians, I do NOT recommend the guy that took over for Dr. Kitty over at Southern Sierra. He has no bedside manner when it comes to children with complex medical issues or special needs.

Pediatrician - I go to Dr. Makalic (spelling might be wrong) at the Rural Health Clinic. 760-499-3855. She can almost always get my daughter in same day, and she's quick as well as thorough. She also tells me any possible side effects of medication be fore she asks if I still want them prescribed. LOVE her. Amazing staff, too. And she takes Medi-Cal, and gives me medications covered by Medi-Cal. I can't say enough good things about that place!

Dr. Wanda Abru in Rural Health. When everyone else gave me no answers about my daughters illness even her own Pediatrician I went to her and not only did she spend so much time listening to me and my concerns but she treated her and actually tried to h elp. She was better in days and I've never gone to anywhere else since switching. Shes also so loving and nice! My daughter used to be afraid of going and now she loves shots! That is miracle! smile emoticon Its good to just call around and meet with different offices regardless of referral and see who works best for you and your kiddos.

I hear nothing but great things about Wanda Abrue. I'm an RN and take my grandkids to dr Schauf and have for many years. No complaint there from me. Not all are board certified pediatricians so depending on medical conditions of your child you may want to take that into consideration when choosing.

Dr Wanda abreu is awesome. So is everyone of the staff at rural health. I love them!!

I like Dr. Beng, my kids have been going there the past 5 years. When daughter was younger and very afraid and apprehensive he refered her out to Loma Linda for treatment. My son loves going there, no hesitation. From what I have seen he and his staff have been great with my kids.

I take all 3 of my girls to Whiting Family Dental they are superb with my girls:) all 10 and younger:)

I have been told that McClure at Rural Health is an excellent ped. I am gonna make an appointment there when my girls need their yearly check ups.

Dr. Abreu and Dr. Rollins are awesome pediatric doctors. Also I love taking my kids to family dentistry. They are very sweet and gentle with my babies.

I didnt know DrVicki was leaving. She has treated our family for ma y years. I am dificult to please having worked in health care for 30 + years. Never had an issue with Dr V office. Sad to hear she will be leaving. Who is good with special needs children? If Dr V. Is leaving, when?

I'm guessing you have been with Vicki. Any of these other Drs are a better choice. My grandsons are with Dr. Hope. My granddaughter is with Dr. Rollins or Abrue. But Vicki is old and should have retired YEARS ago.

Either of the pediatricians at Rural Health (Abreu or Michalik) are great and I believe they accept all insurances except some types of medi-cal health net.

I agree that Dr. Vickie has been amazing. My son will be 20 in October and he was one of her very first patients when she moved here. She has gone so far above and beyond for our entire family--met us at the hospital when her office was closed, made herself readily available, you name it. She's never misdiagnosed or led us astray, either; her decisions have always been very sound and well thought out. She truly teated us like family!

My boys see Dr. Hope and this last time when they were sick because Hope was full, they saw Dr. Singh. He was amazing. And we have Medi-Cal for them.

My kids see Dr Mohr. We have BC/BS. I don't recommend Mahilick. We had her and she was always to busy rushing thru and not listening to our parent complaints about our children. Even was to busy to listen to us and told us our child had the flu when it was really a bad UTI and I had to take her to Urgent Care in order to get it taken care of because she was in to much of a rush to listen to her parents ( us)

I've heard Dr. Abreu at Rural Health does and Southern Sierra Medical has Dr Rollins and a new Pediatrician that just joined their Practice and I think they do as well.

Dr.Azores!Shes really good I took my daughter to her today for the first time and i loved her and it seemed like my 3 month old did to,my daughter had a smile on her face the entire time Azores was in the room.

Dr. Rice is very good with kids, too. She works also at Rural Health. When Dr. Abreu wasn't available, she took care of my daughter and I liked her a lot, how she talked to my daughter, gave me advices, listened to me carefully, explained well till I understood, etc.

The two Drs you mentioned are no longer working. Dr Rollins only takes babies with medical till 3 or 4 months. Dr abru is great. And I believe where Dr abru works they just hired a new dr. And Dianna rice is not a Dr.. Not sure what she is but she is awesome! Everyone at rural health is awesome!

Dr. Mcclure is really sweet and amazing. My newborn was having some problems and she knew what it was immediately. 24 hours later he was in surgery all was well. She saved his life. She didn't do the surgery herself, but knew what had to be done and where we needed to go to get it done.

Dr Abreu...she is wonderful.

Dr. Rollins and Dr. McClure are both great. Great with kids and very informative. They don't just treat and leave it, they both explain what the issue is why how to treat

Dr Rollins has been good with our kids. Very thorough. Don't rush you out. Take time to explain things. My oldest sees dr love Singh and he is good with him also.

Dr. Wanda Abreu at Rural Health pediatrics. I've been to several pediatrician's in town and she is the only one I would ever recommend. She is attentive, never rushes her patients and is so great with kids and parents. My son loves going to see her.

Dr. Vickie has our vote. My son had a somewhat rare disease called Kawasaki syndrome. Commonly mis-diagnosed as strep. She knows her stuff. She's also an infectious disease's Dr. What other medical people had looked past, she diagnosed my sons condition fast and accurately. If we hadn't had her as our doctor my son could have potentially had heart problems for the rest of his life or possibly died without proper care. We love Dr. Vicki!!

Dr Rollins at Southern Sierra! My son has many medical issues and she caught a serious issue when the ball had been dropped my Loma Linda. She takes time to listen to the patient, the worried parents, and I can't recommend her enough!

I am sorry to hear that. but Dr. Vickie and her staff have been wonderful to my boys and we have been using them since my oldest son was 3 and he is now 11 so for 8 years. And she has been wonderful with my youngest even from newborn until his age now. He has scoliosis and she is on top of all his medical needs

Do NOT go to Dr. Michalik! She always seems rushed...took my son to her, he was having so many health issues and she always said, no no he's fine(like he'll grow out of whatever was the matter). I decided to change doctor's and Doctor Vicki was/is AMAZING! She took the time to listen to me and my concerns and found out that he had health risks and had him sent to Loma Linda. Now that I think about it if I hadn't made the decision to change doctor's my son could've gotten really sick or worse! Hope you find someone that you like and your kiddos as well!!!

Dr. Wanda Abreu She is Loma Linda trained. She is so knowledgeable and caring. She really explains what's she's doing and what is going on. She is very amazing with the children as well. She makes you feel comfortable as well as the kids also. Her office takes many insurance and they try to work you in as soon as possible too. I wouldn't take my children anywhere else.
