Anyone know of a great vet that declaws cats?? I need a vet I can trust! And how much do they charge??
Melissa P. replied:
I second Dr. Tripp. I just had dewclaws removed and tails docked on some pups. $5 per pup

I was shocked. The Elmore vet (I live in Elmore City now, but got started using Dr. Tripp when we lived in Healdton) they wanted $18 for the first pup and I think $8-10 per pup for the rest, but wouldn't get me in before the pups were too old. I called Dr Tripp and they got me in that evening

I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but Cats claws indeed grow back, ripping them out does not always permanently declaw. Capping your cats nails is a much more humane practice with a tons of options for nifty apparel. http://www.catsinfo.com/declaw.html

And in case you choose a safer route for your fur child here's a link to answer questions about nail caps! http://www.softpaws.com/questions-answers-cat/

I use David Powers. He is an excellent vet. He has declawed many cats for me and we've never had a problem!!
