Gulf/Sunshine Coast Cabin suggestions or ideas Hey y'all,
I'm just looking for a nice weekend gettaway place to go to where I can rent a cabin for a weekend. Nothing...

Not a cabin, but I can't but recommend [Shades of Jade Inn & Spa](http://shadesofjade.ca/) in Roberts Creek. There's only 2 suites so it's not a big resort nor does it feel like a B&B.

I disagree with the statement that the Gulf Islands are overrated. There are many different ones to visit and each has a different "flavour" and things to offer. I'd recommend checking out as many as you can. I've had magical experiences on Gabriola, Salt Spring, Mayne, Savary, Quadra and Cortes over the years whether I was camping, staying with friends/family, or renting cabins. As for the ferries, it's a good idea to look traveling on them as a \*part\* of the fun/experience rather than something to be merely tolerated. That being said, the Sunshine Coast is also lovely and offers a range of experiences. Do it all!

I don’t agree either that the islands are overrated. My favourite is woods on Pender. Might be out of your price range. We’ve also stayed at cottages on salt spring which was awesome. I’ve also stayed at painted boat on the Sunshine Coast. Another great option!

Search Airbnb and take whatever is available. There are endless options unless you are looking at a long-weekend at the very last minute. The Gulf Islands are overrated (I think). The ferries are sporadically scheduled, and often require a transfer. Tsawwassen is always miserable. It's all too inconvenient. The Sunshine Coast is best. There are regular ferry sailings and lots of places to go. If you don't have a car or prefer to leave it behind, Bowen Island near Snug Cove is best.

Re: the Sunshine Coast rampant condo development means these isn't nearly the amount of small inexpensive cabin-like options available compared to 20 years ago-expect to be overcharged. https://sunshinecoastcanada.com/businesses/sea-cottage-vacation-rental/ https://www.hemingwaycottage.com/ http://www.tzoonieresortsunshinecoast.com/ https://bednboatcottages.com/

A little [winter storm watching](http://www.wickinn.com/winter-storm-watching) at [Wickaninnish Inn](http://www.wickinn.com) on the coast, ferry ride and a nice little drive. Amazing seafood at [The Pointe Restaurant](http://www.wickinn.com/pointe-restaurant) as well.

Check out some B&B or cabins on any of gulf islands. I can recommend saltspring for choices and great spots

For my ex-gf's 35 th birthday I took her up to Whistler and we stayed at a condo on AirBnB that had a hot tub and wasn't right in the village so it was quite nice. Squamish is nice too if you're into hiking but bring a gore-tex jacket as it will most likely be raining. If you are looking to rent a place for a night I'd highly recommend finding an area and looking on AirBnB for a place to stay.

Rockwater Resort (heard amazing things about the 'luxury tents') Mayne Island Resort (stayed for anniversary) Poet's Cove Resort (eloped here) Galiano Island Resort (went to a wedding here)... Nice thing is that you can walk to the resort from the ferry so no car needed.

Parksville on Vancouver island might be nice. There's a lot of beach front resorts, as well as airbnb's. It'll be the off season there so prices will be good and very secluded. It's a pretty boring little town, but if you're just wanting a cozy getaway, it may be just the place.
