I had aquamist clean about a thousand square feet a few months back. I was really impressed with them. They were punctual, professional, and did good quality work. The young guy they sent to do it explained a lot to me about the products they use which was interesting. After they were done my wife noticed a couple of little spots she wanted a second pass at, and they came back a few days later to touch it up. Competitive pricing. Would totally use them again.

Save yourself the money and rent one from Safeway. It's as easy as vacuuming and less than half the cost of the pros.

Nationwide Carpetcleaning is my go-to. Always top-notch service, and I gather competitive rates. If you get those envelopes in the mail with coupons for a bunch of different companies, Nationwide usually will have a coupon in there for twenty bucks off or something along those lines.

Aquamist - amazing folk, and they guarantee their work, meaning if the stain resurfaces then they come back and deal with it for free. Hugely impressed with them.
Seeking low-cost solution to carpet cleaning. Our rugs haven't been cleaned in years and it's time to get them done ... looking forward to any advice you may have.

You could probably rent a carpet cleaning machine at Superstore or Sobeys. They charge a daily rate and provide the cleaning solution. You can also check out UsedPEI.com, someone could be selling a Electrolux carpet cleaner (these were so great). My grandparents get someone in to clean theirs in their apartment, but I forget the name of the company.

As a tech who used to work in the industry. I would say my first choice is love-a-rug and my second would be aquamist. Love of rug is my choice for high end natural fibers as the owner Steve is an educator and inivator in the industry. Aquamist would be more than capable handling any synthetic's you might have. If your looking to have wall to wall carpeting cleaned I would suggest sanitech with 30+ years in business or aquamist with around the same. Both company's have good websites that you can get a quote online from.

I would use a bit of soap and water. Perhaps a damp cloth for minor areas.
