Does anyone have any success from a natural doctor ??? Feeling frustrated for my son
Christine J. replied:
I have tried papaya extract and I have tried chinese medicine and homeopathic medicine. The only thing that seemed to help ( i can't prove it with any disgnostic testing though is tapping). I know you are probably thinking I am a looney tune but I tried every thing under the sun. Since I started this my platelets leveled off they are not in the normal range but I have maintained counts over 100 k since last Nov. My counts yo yo'd before that and steroids were awful and I reacted to IVIG negatively. I can only speak for myself but it is worth a try. I am not getting paid to promote this I am offering it as a reference because it helped me and I know first hand how frustrating ITP and the treatments can be. The lady that helped me is Rosemarie and her site is www.everythingyouwishfor.com. I know everyone is different but this helped me so I hope it can help others too. Good Luck!

PARSLEY, THE NEW PREDNISONE? Parsley has been used for years as a folk remedy for water retention, coughs, allergy, autoimmune, and chronic inflammatory disorders. Although it is one of the most potent disease-fighting plants little is known about how parsley works its magic….that is, until now. Recently, scientists set out to examine just one of the many wonders of parsley, its immune effects, in rigorous scientific detail. They looked at how parsley oil interacts with T-cells and B-cells (both types of white blood cells) and macrophages (cells that engulf and eliminate other cells). Conclusion: parsley oil acted in a similar way to drugs that suppress the immune system, like prednisone, but without the harmful side effects. As if that weren't enough, other studies have shown that parsley has antitumor, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. Karimi MH et al. "Parsley and immunomodulation." Tapping is similar to acupunture where you tap meridian points on your body with your fingers. Here is a link ; www.thrivingnow.com/history-of-tapping-eft/

A great book to read and make you think is Immune System Recovery Plan by functional doctor/immunologist Susan Blum....great insight! I will say I have been artificial sugar (aspartame) and gluten free and have seen a rise in my counts. Check it out and also visit the pdsa website discussion board and look under the thread Natural Treatments...there are some great ideas that will give you encouragement! I believe you will find some hope!

I believe it was natural medicine that put me into remission and helps me stay there. I went to several 'natural' doctors and healers. You can read my story at http://www.pdsa.org/join-the-community/personal-stories/item/129-success-story.html

your looking for a pain management doctor. I read about Dr. Paul Faulkner
Keith O. replied:
I've been seeing Dr.Fulton. he is an older guy and all he does is give me stretches. They don't really seem to be helping me much. The other day I was in so much pain I was rushed to the ER and they gave me meds to help get me relaxed and comfortable. And it seems like every few months I have this big flair up of pain

Get referred to Toronto...that's where all the specialists are and your current doctor should be able to refer you. They'll probably be at Mount Sinai or Toronto Western.
