I have a client coming in tomorrow, she's a carpenter, she says her right hand is going numb. Can y'all recommend techniques I can do to help with that?

Start with evaluation including palpation and muscle strength test and see if anything reproduces or worsens the symptoms. View posture forward head, Janda's upper crossed syndrome. If you find short front line then ... First release fascia without lotion and then release upper trap and levator scapula and then follow Maria Lizzy Thaxton Black's list adding in subclavius, pec minor, SCM, anterior and middle scalene. If symptoms do not improve refer out to MD or Chiro. http://physical-therapy.advanceweb.com/Article/Evaluation-and-Treatment-for-Thoracic-Outlet-Syndrome.aspx

She needs nerve work before releasing the muscles. I highly suggest everyone who does hands on work should learn to do some kind of nerve work. Diane Jacobs work is really worth taking.

Learn these movements from Cory Blickenstaff and show her how to do them. http://www.massage-stlouis.com/novel-movements-hand-wrist-elbow-forearm
