Dr. Loos at WVU is the best! I worked with him when I lived up there. 304-598-4000 is the number to Ruby but the can transfer you. I'm sorry to hear you are injured. I will keep you in my prayers.

When my son broke his arm a few years ago, Dr. Carr (an othopedic surgeon) took really good care of him. Unfortunately, he passed away last year, but I think the doctors at Lewis Gale will do a good job. I hope you feel better soon. Please take care and God bless!:)

Recommendations for a regular physician/nurse practitioner? Hi! I'm going to be moving to Roanoke late July and will need to find a new general practitioner,...

Downtown Firestone used a phantom "suspension issue" to fail my inspection and then asked me to pay ~$800 to fix it. Instead, I took it to the dealership and they said that nothing was wrong with my car, so Firestone is dead to me.

I use Tara Wickline, affliated with Lewis Gale, for my NP. Wife worked for Carillion for a bit and quickly learned to go to Lewis Gale in most cases. Only issue is insurance generally covers one system but not the other in this area, or at least that's what we found. Anyway, nice thing about Tara Wickline is she has offices out in smith mtn lake area and up near valley view mall so two directions covered. When we first moved we were in Salem and used the family practice next to walmart, but they changed doc's so damn much it got to be a huge hassle explaining 250+ surgeries to a new doc every 8-10 weeks. No other medical recc's as wife now works for UVA so we do everything else up in C-ville. As far as car care, downtown has a firestone that done pretty well by us, apperson automotive is also quite good if you end up in salem. I own a element and do take it to woodson honda for somethings, they are decent but a bit slow and overpriced at times. Best thing about firestone is dropping your car off at 11 am and then going for lunch downtown and going window shopping, it's a lovely little downtown, just needs more bookstores.

As for a regular mechanic & inspections, I've been very happy with [Professional Auto Towing & Service](http://protowandservice.com/). It doesn't hurt that they're next door to a brewpub when you need to wait on something, but they have treated us well and do excellent work!

Fiance swears by downtown Firestone. I had an extended warrenty through Haley toyota, and they stuck to the terms and gave me a ride back to work the two times ive used them. So i think they are pretty good.

GP = Kim Evans. She is amazing, very down to earth and willing to do a root cause analysis on everything. OB/GYN = Jill Gaines. Again, very down to earth, very careful and upfront about everything. Dental = Dr. Cloudt and her whole team. Very thorough, very nice, and again really down to earth group (I'm noticing a theme here). No recommendations on vision, sorry. Auto work, I love the Monro Mufflers locations out here, especially the one on Franklin Road. They can do almost any type of work and if they can't, they'll point you in the direction of 2-3 shops they know and have worked with.

GP - Chrystal Bishop (LewisGale Bonsack) OB/GYN - Christopher Keeley (LewisGale Salem) I like the local Toyota dealership, but I did have a run in with an exceptionally stupid person when dropping my car off for service. Luckily. I haven't seen her within the past year.
