[Salt Lake City Marriott University Park] (http://www.marriott.com/reservation/rateListMenu.mi) $101/night. It's up by the University.
fullmetalutes replied:
Does it have to be a hotel? Cause if not airbnb will get you a decent place for that price. Otherwise you might have to go a bit from salt lake, like the hotel in Murray off 54 th and state.
Anonymocoso replied:
If you have a good sense of adventure, you could try Hotwire. Priceline considers downtown and the U of U to be the same area.

Depending on what your budget is the [Monaco](http://www.monaco-saltlakecity.com) and the Downtown [Marriott](http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/slccc-salt-lake-city-marriott-city-center/) are good options.

I've always had a good experience with Little America, and the beds at the Peery Hotel are amazing. It may be worthwhile for you to contact hotels directly, as often the agents are able to give you the best rates possible, especially when you are looking to book multiple nights.

Any recommendations on extremely CLEAN but inexpensive down-to-earth motels/hotels in the Greater SLC area?

What kind of budget are you looking at?
strippingworrior replied:
Not going to find anything that cheap here, the no tell, motels aren't that cheap.
theoriginalharbinger replied:
> extremely clean > $50 a night Not happening. I just ran a search (and for a Sunday-Monday stay it's always going to be cheaper), and the only motel available was the EconoLodge at $47, pre-tax, in your price range. 2.3 stars with many complaints about cleanliness. Housekeeping and upkeep costs. Dial your price range up to at least $80 and you'll find something.
ErnieoderBert replied:
you can find $50 a night, but if you have a requirement of extremely clean you are going to have to spend a lot more, and even then normal clean is likely the best you are going to get. The Grand America is $300 a night and they have pretty good housekeeping standards.
ChettiTheYeti replied:
When are you looking for a place? And for how long?
Anonymous replied:
Look for the cheapest prices online and call the hotel up that has that price. They will match it and you won't have to deal with 3 rd party BS. Clean cheap hotels can be found in Park City during off season. Otherwise you may be looking at outside of the valley. Cheap hotels are a den for drug addicts. Bump your standards up, you are also paying for safety.
Vic_Sinclair replied:
Maybe try couchsurfing or a hostel? Your price range is unrealistic.

Haven't run the 50/50 yet (running 50 miler this year) but have been to Squamish and stayed at the Howe Sound Brewing Company Inn. Decently priced, good location, and restaurant/beer right there if you need:)

August Jack Motor inn is where I stayed the past couple years. But at this point I'd stay wherever is available. The race has gotten so popular these past couple years, everything might be sold out by now. I booked a room at Executive Suites before I even registered for the race for this year.

I stayed at the Best Western Mountain Retreat. August Jack was small and lacked proper air conditioning according to a friend who stayed there, BUT the august jack is right on the finish line.

I did Executive Suites but I booked back in November and I they told me they didn't have much left. Good luck
