Read this book, it'll take like 2 hours, and get you started with ONLY the stuff you need to know. Be very careful trusting advice from financial advisors, as their incentive is to make money off of your money, not to make you more. In general, Find a cheap index fund, (Vanguard total stock index), save as much as you can (at least 10-15%), and don't touch it. http://www.amazon.com/If-You-Can-Millennials-Slowly-ebook/dp/B00JCC5JKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399423176&sr=8-1&keywords=if+you+can

ya, or Edward Jones. And the Roth IRA is the way to go unless you're making more money than most of us because then you won't qualify for it. XO

We use [Joel Van Hofwegen](mailto:joel@certuswealthmanagement.com) from [Certus Wealth Management](http://www.certuswealthmanagement.com/). He's technically in San Carlos, but we usually talk with him via video conferencing. We're also newly married, live in SF -- I am a creative professional and he is a scientist -- also very different income situations. We recently saved up enough to buy a home in the city through Joel's coaching. He's incredible :\]

Ira Fateman and Elizabeth Prindle at SAS Financial Advisors. Ira has come to my organization on a few occasions to speak with staff about financial planning and they way he explains things makes sense to me in a way that other people have not. I also took a full day workshop from them that was great. http://www.sasadvisors.com/

I work for a mid sized RIA firm. I can explain what it means if you'd like but it pretty much means we are held to a higher fiduciary standard than broker dealers. I would love to show you you what value we could provide you. I can perform a free analysis and show you what we'd recommend free of charge and you can decide if you think it'd be worth it. Feel free to message me on here and I can give you my contact information!

Sign up for mint.com and maybe personalcapital.com. Mint let me know that I was paying 401(k) fees that I didn't realize I was paying. From previous company. I probably didn't pay fees when I was employed, it's been six years. Both sites are free.
