Drew: From a local perspective, the price of gas has increased by about 50% in 5 years. Nowadays it's not so much an issue about safety as it is with price. Example: 1 gastank costs around 16 euro. I used about 1 gastank per week back in the day. Today that would be 16 eurox4= 64 euro/heater/month. Compare that to a electric oil heater that runs about 1000 watts on medium power. The thermostat switches it off automatically so let's say it runs 30 minutes per hour. So 500 watts per hour. 1 kwh (the cost of 1000 watts usage per hour) of electricity in Malta costs about 25 cents. 1 electric oil heater would therefor cost you 12.5 cents/hour. Let's say you run it 5 hours per day. That is 62.5 cents per day and 18.75 euro per month. So with the same money you spend on 1 gas tank (if you use one per week) you can use 3 electric oil heaters. BONUS: Electric heaters dries the air, which means you feel warmer faster and prevent humidity damage and mold. Eletric Oil heater wins

This is the type of electric oil heater you'd want. Notice the enclosed fins, it forces the hot air to shoot out from top and it sucks in the cold air from beneath: http://www.ultimate.com.mt/home-appliances/heating-cooling/electric-heaters/delonghi-trd0820.html Drew: Please have a look at my last post again as I accidentally pressed enter and posted it prematurely before I had worked out the numbers.
Hi there! I bought 4 heating panels that have to be mounted to the wall. Unfortunately, the electrician I had let me down today. And now I am urgently looking for help...
