I found a restaurant on Aurora Street called "Gogebic Restaurant". From 1920-1922. owned by MACKRES and P.G. NANOS. Closed March 1922, it was located a few doors from the Rialto Theater. In May 1922 Charles LEE from Ashland came to town and opened the New Hong Kong Chop Suey House and Restaurant in the same location.

This is the Jacob Maki Cafe on Suffolk in the 1920's. On the back of the picture it only says "Ida Salo" and "Rili Jokipu". My grandmother was Eva Kleimola Erickson who ran Eva's Cafe from 1959-1974. This picture was found in a box upstairs of the Cafe...See More
