I remember Magician series being good at first. The Ghormenghast triology by Mervyn Peake is serious lit. Terry Pratchett is well worth it and much lighter.

Michael J Sullivan, Theft of Swords is a good trilogy. Think uve read Brent Weeks. Old favourites Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickmans Dragonlance series starts with Dragons of Autumn twilight. Fiona Mcintosh Myrryns Gift is good too. hope this helps.
