Does anyone know who has this tattoo - RH1? It is on a Nubian doe bought at an auction?

You just never know what you'll find at an auction, whether it's a goat or antiques. Our judge this weekend was relating a story where a goat she had put up as Grand Champion and Best in Show had been purchased for $60 at an auction. But you can just as easily get a dud or an unwell animal. Prairie View A&M University's International Goat Center often sells it's excess goats through one of our local auctions - when they decided to limit their herd to only Alpines, many lucky people were able to pick up some very well bred LaManchas and Nubians that were "culled" from the program. I also don't think it rude to ask about tattoos - you don't have to release the papers even if you want to let the requestor know the animal came from your herd, but it would be nice for the buyer to know the herd the animal came from.
