I LOOOVE!!!! Dr. Biles! He doesn't accept insurance but they will send in the claim to insurance. He is so worth it! He's a holistic dentist and an honest guy. He believes that your teeth are part of your body!!? Not their own separate system:) also, he has great books like nourishing traditions in the waiting room

Hey Keidi, good luck finding a dentist! We go to Felton Dental and Marsha takes a lot of time on my teeth. She also recommended "interdental toothpicks" on a daily basis in between cleanings and I canNOT recommend them enough to keep the plaque at bay... they work even better than floss!

I love mine and have seen her for 14 years. Dr Coslett 476-6900 in Soquel. She is really good with Eva also.

Have you tried Dientes Dental?

Western Dental and Dientes are your only options in Santa Cruz. (I work in the dental field) the good thing with WD is they have several doctors that seem to work there. You can always request a different Dr. Dientes is quiet good, it does take some time to get in for an appointment tho. Good luck to you!

I went to Dientes when I was unemployed and they were very good. I have also heard a lot of bad things about Western Dental.....

Kathryn, didn't Dientes give you some advice on finding someone who would do root canals in SC County that accepts MediCal? Did they just send you out the door and and say "Good luck"? They were great to me when I needed a couple fillings and I was broke and unemployed. Recently, I had to get an implant and found out my insurance would only cover pulling my tooth that had split, but not for the replacement even though it would screw up the rest of my teeth that they would cover to repair which would be more than the@Q#$$ implant (god I hate medical/dental insurance companies). All quotes I received for my implant in S. Cruz county were all around $6,000!! For one frickin' tooth! I almost went to Yuma, AZ because right over the border in Mexico are excellent dental offices that do nothing but service Americans. It would have cost $800 there, but I found a dental office in Santa Clara that would do it for only $2300 and with travel to Yuma and hotel, it ended up being better to go to Santa Clara. Still a lot, but something I could pay off over many months. If you absolutely can't find someone to do the root canal here, look over the hill. The group who did my implant also does root canals. They may take MediCal. I thought they did an excellent job and I've referred a lot of people to them. Here is there website. http://www.cdgimplants.com/

I think Western Dental is awful. They are the ultimate Doc in a box type medical clinic. I was disappointed when I saw them go in on Ocean Street. Good luck with all this dental stuff. Dental care in the US is just awful. Even those of us with insurance find out how little it covers if you need something beyond a simple filling.

Delta Dental insurance has some good policies for under $100/year. I haven't taken them yet as they don't cover my current dentist but I'm going to probably sign up and find a new one shortly.

I had fillings done at Western Dental...every one of them bothered me/still bothers. When I complained about one of them several months out...they told me it was normal and they were supposed to feel like that for awhile. OK...but not several months!! 2 days later, the filling fell out. I went back...at least they fixed it for free....but I don't trust them I'll never go back

Dr. Dari Vogel used to do root canals a long time ago and was good with Medi-Cal. He did one for me using MediCruz. I don't know what he does today. He is just down the street from Shopper's Corner.

Western dental is said to take medi-cal. Located on ocean street by Santa Cruz diner.
