I have often said if some lawyers really wanted to make some money they could start working for the parents. I hate that these are OUR, the people's, schools and they really aren't set up to be in the best interest of all of our children. I have also found any lawyers who know educational law work for the districts. We don't find these things out until we as parents run into issues. I've seen it here and in other states. I think many of the parents who homeschool are the parents who have already learned this the hard way.:-/ Melissa I agree you may be right that enrollment issues could very well be part of the concern too. That makes sense. Their English half of the day for these immersion kids could end up really small if lots of parents only send their kids for the foreign language portion. Brook Wardle may have some insight as well as far as finding representation. But he may say similar to Melissa. Good Luck!

Lillian Meredith in Utah County does Special Ed law representing families. Maybe she'd be helpful with regular ed stuff too

Melissa Weight Wallace she is in the boundaries for the school. She will be heading to the 4th grade in the fall and because this is Chinese and 4th grade, they can't fill her spot with someone else. I figure half of her WPU is better than an empty spot. The superintendent referred me to a district supervisor and I am meeting with her next week.
