It took me forever to get accepted to the Childcare Connections page as well. What I ended up doing was sending a private message to the admin and she then added me right away. It was extremely frustrating as she had acted like she hadn't noticed there were requests pending. The page is incredibly active though, so it's worth it. Hang in there.

The Childcare Connection Saskatoon Facebook group is best, hopefully you can get accepted soon. I would try joining the Facebook group of the neighborhood you live in and post on it asking if anyone has available space in the area. You should get a fair amount of replies going that route.

The primary source of daycare in Saskatoon is dayhomes, some of which are licensed and some of which are not. I highly suggest looking for some with openings, and interviewing them. Daycare centers (Preston Early Learning, for example) have massive wait lists but it is worth calling - and a lot are reserved for low-income families. Options to find daycare: * Facebook groups * Kijiji * http://www.tykesntots.ca/ * https://www.prestonearlylearning.ca/ * https://www.gscs.ca/studentsandfamilies/elementaryschools/Pages/OnsiteChildCares.aspx * https://ussu.ca/main-page/centres/childcare-centre/

Facebook is your best bet. What kind of hours will u need because that will make a big difference if u choose home or private.

Kijiji was how we found our first daycare (private, unlicensed. Sketchy.) The second which we love was recommended by a family member

You're looking for care in someone's home, or you are looking for a licensed daycare facility? Our experience with homecare was not too terrific, but both of our kids were very happy at Albert Daycare. Tykes & Tots is another good place, with multiple locations through the city. If your residency is with RUH Albert would work out well location-wise, there's also the U of S daycare.

Anyone know of any female doctors in the city that are taking new patients? I have a young daycare family that has no doctor.

Hi Arden! If you haven't already, I suggest contacting pacificare for a list of daycares in your area. I would also recommend joining the facebook group 'parents looking for childcare on Vancouver island'. It's a great way to connect parents with childcare providers. If you can't find anything in your preferred area, I have a thurs/Friday spot open in south Nanaimo. Good luck! Www.facebook.com/astermeadowfcc
