[Doctors taking new patients](https://www.saskatoonhealthregion.ca/patients/Documents/Doctors-Taking-Patients/DoctorsTakingPatients.pdf) in Saskatoon. There won't be a lot of options, it can be hard to find a family doctor in Saskatoon that isn't looking to specialize. That being said, Dr. Jansen Van Rensburg treats two people in my family and is very good.

Community Clinic has awesome staff if you can get in. Otherwise, Dr. Sader@Willowgrove is a good guy (and you can walk in).

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan vouches for ALL practicing physicians. Surely they are a more reliable source than a bunch of internet strangers.
Anyone know of any female doctors in the city that are taking new patients? I have a young daycare family that has no doctor.

Unfortunately from everything I've heard a medical marijuana licence is incredibly hard to acquire in Saskatchewan as your doctor's belief is the commonly held stance here by most medical professionals.

My friend's Mom has MS and was unable to get it through a doctor. She gets it through "less legal" sources now which is a shame as she swears it helps. She is 60 years old, had never smoked it before and just tried it as a last measure to help with her MS and sure enough it has helped. I highly doubt she is in the demographic to abuse it so it's pretty sad she couldn't access it legally.
hebenon replied:
Is your Doctor a specialist? Is she a rheumatologist or neurologist? If not then she is likely not going to give you authorization to have access to medical marijuana. If she is not a specialist then ask her to refer you to one. If you feel that your current medication is not treating your disease then you must request alternate treatments. If no other treatment works then your specialist can provide you with medical marijuana treatment if you have a category 1 or 2 condition (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/marihuana/how-comment/eligible-admissible-eng.php#a1). It is difficult to get this treatment as it is a taboo subject amongst practitioners.

Marijuana isn't a pain killer that's probably why your doctor won't give you a prescription.
