Does anyone know how I can find an open-minded pediatrician in New Jersey?
Gopa S. replied:
Our pediatrician isn't very good. I wouldn't recommend anyone from that place. Gave us a really hard time about not giving vaccinations. Luckily the kids haven't been sick in over 2 years so we haven't had to go there. There has to be better ones out there. I'll ask a few friends. I know they recommended a few places before. Brigitte McGuire Kim Deitz Can you help? You should take your little girl and all of you to http://www.drmteitelbaum.com/. She is the best. She understands everything that is going on in your system. Quite amazing actually.

Michele DeLeeuw Silverman yes the consent form he gave me had both the side effects of the vaccines and the side effects of the disease themselves. I agree that vaccines have helped to eradicate diseases over the years. As far as polio goes, I considered vaccinating my kids against it when we went to live in India because it was still very much alive (9 years ago). I ended up not doing it... just didn't feel right. When we lived there the WHO would go door to door offering vaccines, and still it didn't feel right. When I got home to Canada I found out that there had been a huge polio outbreak (worse than in many years) in the area where I had been living and that the outbreak was caused by a new polio vaccine that they had been testing... by going door to door offering it. I was both shocked and relieved that I had followed my gut and taken a chance on NOT vaccinating. It is a choice we all have to make for ourselves. I'm happy with my choice.... also BTW my husband and I were not vaccinated, so our childrens current immunity doesn't come from us being vaccinated.

Yes, and salting meat, as in accordance with Kosher law, reduces disease, but certainly avoiding meat all together is the best way to prevent disease. Although the NYC area has many different kinds of Jews, 'Haredi Jews' are the most openly defiant and famous people in your area for refusing vaccines even if they try to have them arrested and take the kids away.

Ours were Dr Hill and Dr Ibay in Sicklerville, NJ, south of Cherry Hill. They were awesome! We've never vaccinated and it's never been an issue.

Robert Farkas A couple days ago my lactation consultant was telling me that she has mothers coming in to her that say "My doctor says to feed my baby formula" and this is when there are no complications at all to the mother breastfeeding. The lactation consultant seemed really disturbed by it.

We used Riverside Pediatrics in Jersey City. They never pressured me to vax and kind of kept out of my business. They've won some awards, and overall I've had good experiences there. It's an inner city doctor but the practitioners there are all kind, attentive and respectful of people's choices.

My friend recommended Dr. Cohn from Highland Park or Dr. Schlacter from up north. Maybe you can search them. I'm also interested in switching.
