MicroCenter in Paterson?

[IEI - Interstate Electronics](http://www.interstateelectronics.com/) always has a wide selection of stuff. It's not really little electronics doodads like you'd find at Radio Shack. You find those heavy duty batteries they use in medical equipment, networking equipment (lots of ethernet, punchdown tools, etc), soldering equipment, strobe lights/car audio-visual stuff, etc. It's a neat little store.
scatterbrn replied:
I can't help with the electronics shops in the area but you're not too far from Newton where you can find [Andre's](http://www.andresrestaurant.com/). you're also probably not too far from [Mohawk House](http://mohawkhouse.com/) in Sparta.
Anybody know of an electronics store in Seattle that would sell thermal paste for a cpu?
Spikelite replied:
http://www.repc.com/ These guys probably have it and are a great resource.
holierthanmao replied:
Progressive Tech would probably sell you some. They are mega accomodating.
AGuidAmongMen replied:
Vetco in Bellevue would have it.
tehstone replied:
i know the radioshack in West Seattle has it because I bought it there a couple months ago. I'm pretty sure they all do because it was radioshack branded. the guys that stand there and try to sell you cellphone contracts won't be able to help you find it though so good luck. took me about 5 minutes.
courtneyj replied:
Some RadioShack's and Fry's should have it.
Demogorgo replied:
Radio shack sells it, check it here http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2216879http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2216880

Fry's in Renton should almost certainly have it.

CheshireFrog replied:
Fry's. Fry's has everything. I love Fry's.
natemc replied:
Just about all of them. They are all over the place. The type will vary though.
Where to find cheap 1080p LCD panels? I'm looking for a few 19-24" 1080p LCD/LED panels (or any 1080p display without plastic enclosure, power supply etc.) for a hobby...
dksiyc replied:
Enjoy: http://www.panelook.com/ You'll need to contact the manufacturers directly, so maybe talk up your production quantity when asking to buy samples.
toybuilder replied:
You're fighting economy of scale. Your best bet may be to find a closeout / used lots (end-of-lease) bunch of same monitors and harvest.
cloidnerux replied:
There is not really a normal distributor for panels, even if you want to do small scale commercial runs. Panels are no commodity and most manufacturers do just custom panels, as there is no real demand for OTS panels.
marklein replied:
> They also seem to be mainly sold as replacement parts for specific monitor/laptop models, not just as generic components This is correct. There's virtually no market in bare panels other than this.
ashe34h replied:
maybe look on ebay for monitors with missing/broken stands or damaged plastic housing.
darthskids replied:
If you don't mind chopping up a working monitor, they can usually be found at thrift stores for a few bucks.
Neon_Yoda_Lube replied:
When I broke my laptop screen I went to some generic site, cant remember the name, laptopscreens.com or something. Anyways, those would work nice for hobbies. You can choose the resolution, gloss or matte, ect and you get just the LCD panel. I believe it cost me $40 for my replacement 1080 p screen. Edit: the website is www.laptopscreen.com
Looking for antique electronics store! Hello /r/seattle! I have a co-worker that is really in to old/odd electronics from the 70s and 80s (I think they are neat too!)....
RealMakershot replied:
It's possible that Re-PC might have some of that. Although they do focus more on computers than general electronics, I've seen a few old 80's tape decks and VCRs on several occasions.
IneptTourGuide replied:
[Hawthorne Stereo](http://www.hawthornestereo.com/) carries vintage A/V equipment--speakers, receivers, turntables, reel-to-reel, 8 tracks. I've spotted a few oddities from the 70 s/80 s on occasion.
merg_flerg replied:
Salvation Army at 1010 4 th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134. Usually stereo stuff is in the back on the shelves, other electronics in the bins. Check to the right of the registers on the side of the store, there is another section with older stuff. The Goodwill in Renton at 3210 NE Sunset Blvd, Renton, WA 98056 has the biggest selection IMO. It's on the shelves when you go in make a left. The one in Tukwila at 1174 Andover Park W, Tukwila, WA 98188 has some stuff as well. Look in the glass display cases, usually the smaller electronics are in there. The selection changes as new stuff comes in at all these places. Also, garage sales.
manofoar replied:
You also might find some older stuff at Vetco Electronics over on 124 th in Bellevue. There's more like some vintage test gear, not so much A/V there.
I'm heading to Portland soon and would like to check out a camera. What's a good camera store nearby any Max Rail station? You know, like the Glazer or Kenmore...
Joseph E. replied:
If you're looking for a camera store in Portland, I've been to Camera World. It's near Pioneer Square.
Kurt W. replied:
Pro Photo Supply has a nice selection, but they aren't shy about prices.
Patrick C. replied:
Pro Photo Supply is the biggest store in Portland. NW 19 th and Marshall. The downtown trolley is a block away.
Heather D. replied:
The folks at Pro Photo Supply have been very helpful when I've been there.
