At the end of the day, regardless of your personal feelings about non-Koreans, WASPy NES "teachers" of English are an incredibly small portion of the population in Korea, who have traveled across oceans to work here, and provide a service that is very much in demand nationwide. If the ESL industry doesn't pay a decent wage, what do you suppose will happen? The demand will still be there, but the quality of the s service providers will be gutted.
