Sounds like Ray is highly recommended. Another good suggestion would be the guy I go to, Matt at Angelo's Barber Shop on 25A in East Setauket (same shop Nathaniel mentioned, in the Mario's parking lot, shares the strip with the music store.) He's great, and a very nice guy. He even gives out his cell to some people once he knows you, so you can text when you're heading there and try to avoid any wait time.

Angelo's is the one that's the same elevation as Mario's, the Setauket Gourmet Deli, Three Village Music, etc.. There is another one underneath it called Pete's Barber Shop, but that's not the one. I know it's confusing haha. If you decide to go to Angelo's, pull into the Mario's parking lot (first store on your right will be the cleaners,) and just drive straight to the end of the parking lot. You'll see Angelo's right there on the left. Can't miss it.
