Horisho in Ikebukuro, or any of the artists he has working in his Kabukicho shop. http://www.tattooseek.com/ They have an English speaker on hand most of the time, and they take walk-ins in Kabukicho.

I recently got one done at Red Bunny in Kichijoji. Might be a bit far for you but they have a foreign tattoo artist if you don't speak Japanese. He's very competent and was easy to chat to - made the time fly by.
A friend of me is searching for a tattoo artist in tokyo, any recommendations?

Alright, the guy I recommend is Shu Sawada, and is at Genie Tattoo in Kichijoji. I think his rates reasonable, but I really don't know. Here is a link: http://shu-sawada.tumblr.com/

Tattoo Studio Recommendations (Tokyo) Looking to get a new tattoo, I've got a few recommendations from friends but the artists style isn't exactly what I'm after - I'm...
tokyohoon replied:
You can't go wrong with [Tattoo Seek](http://www.tattooseek.com/). If you want geometric work, you want Joy in the Kabukicho studio or Daisuke in the Roppongi studio.

Scratch Addiction did a pretty awesome job on my wife and I's tattoos. They also speak English and are located in Tokyo.

I can personally recommend Studio Muscat in Shibuya. Need to book like a month in advance though. Kind of speaks to the quality.

Tagging onto this topic, but does anything know of any good places to get a tattoo in Nagano?
My husband did some research and knows a few places. Unfortunately I'm blanking on the names. I'll ask him in the morning and shoot you a PM.

I really dig the works of Horiyoshi 3, getting one of his tattoos is a lifestyle on its own.

Hey, it's hard to get a butt shaped tattoo, with a tattoo of a but on it, on your butt. [That'll be cool.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgVH2 kDepqw)
Lol idk if it's me but every time you move you have to find a good tattoo artist in whichever state you move too. I research each artist first to see if there's some...
