Restaurants
My husband and I are new to Shrewsbury and were curious if any of you had recommendations for restaurants. Can you offer any suggestions for pizza,...
Charles C. replied:
Hi Stacy. Welcome to Shrewsbury. I moved here back in March with my gf and I must say that most of the really good restaurants are in Worcester. I'm still finding my way around the area but here are a few I would recommend: Check out: Boynton http://www.boyntonrestaurant.com/ordereze/default.aspx If you are into Sushi, check out Baba http://babasushi.com/ If you are willing to venture out to Framingham about 20 minutes check out: http://www.sambaframingham.com/

I'm relocating to the area in June, and I've been on many trips trying to tie all the loose ends up-- I love Harry's Restaurant on Rt 9; they are opened until 1 am on the weekdays and 2 am on the weekends. They offer a little bit of everything and the staff is super sweet! I go out there everytime I'm in the area; http://www.westborough.com/harrys/harrys.htm And also.. have heard sooo many great things about Sole Proprieter in Worcester; it's definitely worth checking out as well!
Kelly B. replied:
Elsa's here in town is good. My favorite restraunt is The Sole Proprietor in Worcester - always great food and service
John H. replied:
The Boroughs YMCA in Westborough is a good gym, and affordable as well. Its located on Rt. 20 right across from the Christmas Tree Shops.

Hi. I'm looking for a place to host sweet 16 party. Any suggestion?
Dadene G. replied:
The Italian Club on Dewey Rd is a great choice. The hall is nice, nothing fancy but definately reasonable. We just had my son's wedding rehearsal dinner there and were very happy. They have a nice dance floor, the food is delicious and extremely reasonable.
Lola B. replied:
We just had a 3 year-olds party at JJ's Sports Bar & Grille. Yes, it sounds weird but they have a GREAT party room downstairs. Go check it out. Tell him Lola from Lalajava sent you. http://www.jbag.biz/
Best restaurant in the area for vegetarian food? Doesn't have to be a purely vegetarian restaurant. Non-veg places with good veg options would be great. Thanks.
Michelle C. replied:
Special teas in northboro has lots of vegetarian options and accommodate as much as they can. Loving Hut in Worcester for vegetarian takeout. B.good for a quick casual meal. Pho sure has veg options for Vietnamese. Volturno in Worcester has some awesome veg options on their menu.
Amanda L. replied:
EVO in Worcester is awesome, "Best Vegan & Organic Food 2014". http://www.evodining.com
Katie C. replied:
I like El Basha (Worcester &/or Westboro) Also b good has some vegetarian choices. Evo, Udupi, Lakeside Grill,The Thai Place, Brown Rice in West Boylston (thai food), Mezcal (worcester, Mexican food). Oli's in W. boylston has vegetarian options too as does Amici's ( great eggplant parm) Almost all restaurants now have vegetarian menus.... sometimes you just have to ask, or ask your waitress/waiter for substitutions to meat. You'd be surprised. I've had some excellent outcomes just by asking for substitutions.
Christian H. replied:
Nancy Chang in Worcester has a great vegan chicken you can order in place of any chicken item in the menu.
Michele G. replied:
If you want to go to Allston you should try The Grasshopper... It's Asian vegan. There is also a great place in Lowell called Life Alive. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but they are great!
Linda W. replied:
El Basha is great.
Becky R. replied:
Pho Sure Vietnamese food in White City has a regular and Vegan menu. My son had one of the Tofu and rice meals and it had great flavor. And for those who enjoy Pho, they offer several tasty options.
Andrea B. replied:
Pomir Grille on Shrewsbury Street is awesome. But it's small so you need a reservation on the weekend. pomirgrill.com
My wife and I celebrate our 10th Anniversary on Friday. Any recommendations on restaurants? Maybe something that isn't on Shrewsbury Street?

I agree with John Masiello. It's a milestone! I suggest il Capricio in Waltham for Italian, or Blue Ginger in Wellsley for Asian Fusion cuisine. The Custom House in Boston is Fantastic, at the top of the Custom Tower. Beautiful view. Congratulations!
