Hi! I'm looking for a nice place to stay on Christmas and New Year. I want to go to an hotel with Spa and near a ski centre because I've never skied! Also with...

Elena, I think Bansko is the only resort that combines spa pools and ski. But it's a bit hard to get there without a car. It's not close to Sofia. The other ski resorts - Borovets, Pamporovo - don't have mineral water pools. They have some hotels with pools but the water isn't mineral. Pamporovo is not easily reachable without a car either. Borovets is closer and easier.

I agree with Dobrinishte. Very nice place. Makedonska Kruchma has beautiful rooms and amazing food.

I spent last New Years in Bansko. I really had an amazing time( I was also in great company) We rented an apartment from a hotel complex and had access to Spa. We didn't sky but the lift was close. Also the center. It was a bit crowded but enjoyable. I would recommend being at a Club at might night though. Sure it will make for some fun time. Unless you want the VIP privacy of your living room, The next day you can even catch some Kukeri on the streets. It was all full of snow which made it even more memorable. I will not forget the morning walk on the snow. Don't forget to take plenty of booze! https://www.facebook.com/ApartmentD26GreenLifeBansko/...

I recommend MEDICUS Spa Hotel in Vrashets. The hotel is nice, the spa is good, the views are great. The town is quiet. The hotel is 2 min away from an Eco-path that ends in a waterfall. Totally worth it. One hour from Sofia. Perfect for a weekend http://medicus.bg/en/

Separeva Banya - 30 min from Sofia with a car. One of the best water in the world is there. Water park Kotvata, there you can chose from more than 10 pools. There is also a very nice restaurant to have lunch or just something for drink.

Rila Monastery is a must, can get there by car or bus. I like the millitary museum in Sofia. One tip, whatever museum you want to visit most will have one day of the week that is free entry, although some are free anyway! Alexander Nevski cathedral is worth a vist, take the free Sofia walking tour is always good
