I Have a question: how do you get high levels of EPA and DHA Omega 3's without eating fish and fish oils? I take total vegan omega 3-6-9 now, but my doctor prescribed a...
The S. replied:
Hi Angelica, alphalinolenic acid (omega 3) is converted in the body to EPA and DHA. Many factors affect the rate of conversion and one factor seems to be a high food intake of linoleic acid (omega 6). Vegans can achieve a better balance by using less sunflower, safflower and corn oils, and more oils containing alphalinolenic acid such as rapeseed (canola) oil, or soya bean and walnut oils. See http://www.vegansociety.com/lifestyle/nutrition/essential-fatty-acids.aspx for more info. lili
The S. replied:
You can find a list of Vegan Society trademark Omega 3 products on our website too - http://www.vegansociety.com/trademarksearch.aspx?ad=677747 - just search for "omega 3". Hope that helps, lili

Your insurance website should also have a list of providers who are nearby that accept not only new patients but your insurance. I would start there and then once you have that list of names call around and google for reviews. Might be easier than just calling a bunch of offices until you find one.
