Has anyone used one of the MassSave insulation contractors? Who did you use and did you like them? (Boston-area recommendations, if possible.)
Jeff L. replied:
We used Next Step Living. Given that CSG manages the process and views other vendors as competitors, it was a rough process. I hear they may have fixed that problem since then.
Andrea S. replied:
From what it looks like, Next Step Living is now competing with CSG instead of being a vendor for MassSave - looks like they're not on the CSG vendor list anymore. I see their trucks around all the time.
Stephen R. replied:
We did. Lisa Wanamaker Reynolds can tell you more about it.
Fred P. replied:
We used McEachern insulation and were happy with them. We were using our attic for storage and they did some basic framing before blowing the new insulation in which worked out well. They're in Braintree, let me know if you want more info. http://www.mceacherninsulation.com/
Andrea S. replied:
Stephen - Boo! Must find out who that is. So far I'm liking Energy Tech Solutions best, but only based on written reviews (which I think are skewed) and a brief phone conversation.
Tom H. replied:
We had our energy audit done by CSG through MassSave, and we used A&M General Contracting to do our insulation 4-5 years ago. They did a great job, as our insulation helped cut our heating costs by one oil delivery. You can find them here: http://peabody.patch.com/listings/am-general-contracting. CSG provided another phone # too: 978-741-7777. Jane, do you have anything to add?

Andrea C. replied:
Hi Debbie Hellweg Eric and I used Flynn Roofing(617-479-3431) They did a great job. We had had someone else put on a roof 18 months before. It was a disaster. We convinced the 1 st guy to give us out money back, and Flynn came in, removed the old "new" roof. We have had no issues. They showed up when they said they would. They got it done in the time they said it would. There were no cost overruns, and we are no leak free. If they ask how you found them, they won't know me. You can tell them Eric Carlson in West Roxbury. Good luck!
