If he wants a super fun room, Peppermill in Reno is awesome!!! The Tuscan tower suites are the best and you can get a deal at Costco.com! Huge rooms with jacuzzi tub! If you don't mind going off the hill. I have a 10 & 12 year old and we have been going for years as ca staycation!! Then you could do ez air or the go cart place or discovery museum is awesome!!!

Mont Bleu has the best pool. The kids love it!

Basecamp Hotel has a really cool room that is set-up like a campground. There is a fake fire on the floor, a picnic bench for a table, and a canvas tent over the bed. They also have a room for a group of kids.
