I cant say enough good things about Sue@Village Pet on S. Main in Plantsville. We went to her exclusively then moved away for 3 years, Tried 4 or 5 local (Southbury) and ended up driving 40 minutes back to her. Happy to be closer now that we are back in Southington. She handles our two Great Danes (one is 175 lbs) and Australian Shepherd no problem. 621-6330

I believe they take difficult cases for nail trims at Mountain Lore Animal Hospital .. but they charge more and Im not sure if they take animals that do not go there for check ups. But if you would like to try call them phone is 860 276 8553

I have had very good luck with Wagging Tails Mobile Pet Grooming. At first, I used them for my cocker spaniel because she hated the car...now it's out of necessity because she had become blind and needs lots of TLC. I have been with them through some staff changes (their longtime groomer had a baby) and ALL of them have been great. Luis is there now and he's simply wonderful.
