Try Albert's on Memorial. Old fashioned cobbler. His shop is on the south strip mall at Kirkwood and Memorial. Also, don't the athletic shoe places do orthotics?

San Antonio Shoemakers on I-10 between Bunker Hill and Blalock/Echo. Or Foot Solutions. Keep in mind though that you may not be able to utilize your insurance benefit at these places, although you might be able to self file after purchase.
If you’re trying to use insurance, then yeah the wait time is par for the course, especially since 2013 when legislation hit that part of the industry pretty hard, then more recently Operation Brace Yourself. The legitimate companies have to be extremely meticulous with their appointments AND especially the paperwork, and often times the biggest holdup comes back to doctors offices not wanting to honor paperwork or other documentation requests by DMEPOS providers.

Used to I would recommend Shriners hospital in the med center but I heard they were closing it and moving to the burn hospital in Galveston. I have a cousin who they fitted with a prosthetist and as he grew they’d continually update it until he turned 18.
Anyone remember the shoe repair shop on Center St up the street from the theatre toward Main? Was it DelPesco's?? I used to have the metal heel tappers put on my shoes...

Remember Del Pescos--seems that was the only place we ever got shoes. I remember it on Main.

Ken Lamothe Leon Renaud You are both correct! I still can smell the very pleasant leather and polish smell when going into the shoe repair shops of yesterday. A lost art in this throw-away world of today.

Mr. Savoie had a shoe repair shop near the Times Square Tavern. We patronized him during the 1950 s and 1960 s.

That "cobbler" in town repaired many a shoe of mine! You are right, Richard Law. That is a lost art!

David Doiron I doubt you could find one in Houston today. Buy um, wear um out, throw um out! Used to have Houston Shoe Hospital stores all over Houston. Maybe one or two left.
Can someone please refer a good shoe repair company! I have a friend in need of assistance.

I use Jesse's Shoe Repair on 1960. But it looks like there is another location on Louetta.
