Help! Our home is infested with ants. I am at my wit's end. We need a cheap, but reliable pest control company that will come out soon to our home in Lake Saint Louis.

Use the Terro ant baits. Put some of the outdoor variety down as a perimeter, and use the indoor kind around the house. Also, for the rest of the time (when you don't have an ant infestation) you can use "Home Defense Max" by Ortho as a preventative. I keep a big ol' container around with a sprayer. Works great as a bug barrier if sprayed around all doors and windows (indoor and out). Nine years working at a hardware store and I wasn't sure I would ever need any of this information again

My father in law owns Antimite. If you call, his name is Tod Williams! They do a great job!!!

We LOVE pest shield! They come quarterly. BUT our dog threw up in our entryway and front porch. We had a huge infestation of ants inside and out the next morning. I used my doTERRA essential oil mix of terrashield and peppermint. Killed them all instantly and I've never seen another one since. Or any other bug anywhere near our front door/porch since...come to think of it. Just now realized. Huh. Not even a moth on the light. Wow

Noel Buckingham at Buckingham Pest Control is a long-time, well respected company. Ants are tough to get rid of but he will treat you right!
This product is sold at Southern States in Monroe near hospital. It is the very same thing that the local pest companies use!!! Is $35, you dilute it down and lasts a long time. Safe to spray indoors and out and safe for animals. Ask them for instructions on how to dilute. Directions are confusing. Kills everything that flies or crawls!!

For the ants, go to home depot or lowes and get Terro baits. Put them in the path of the ants and they work within a day (for us). Our exterminator said it's the best thing to do. http://www.terro.com/ Like · 1 · Yesterday at 2:45 pm

I used Diatomaceous Earth and it did not work even slightly...I am super anti-chemical but that alternative method does not work. DO NOT however try to use chemicals yourself. If you are planning on going with a chemical definitely spend the bit more coin to have someone like HomeTeam pest defense take care of it for you...It has been proven though several tests/studies that trained exterminator's use FAR LESS chemicals then those who try to do it themselves!!!
Looking for a local Exterminator (for those tiny ants) in the Valley - A-1 is in the phone book - anyone with past experience with them???

Yes, what I do is get those packs from IV Building Supply: http://www.terro.com/terro-liquid-ant-killer
Maureen C. replied:
oh no..... don't use poison and exterminators around your home or anywhere for that matter, there are natural deterrents to ants. diatomaceous earth, buy at the grange, a white powder that is made from finely ground shells, sprinkled outside around the base of your house will keep them out and though boric acid is toxic to pets a mixture of boric acid, sugar and water has the same effect as Terro http://naturalantkiller.blogspot.com/
To all my friends in St. Louis-- I am looking for an exterminator. I prefer someone who is independent and not a large company. Any ideas??

Can anyone recommend a good pest control company? I have been having problems with moths.

I use Blue Chip for our rental properties. Their prices are reasonable, and I never get returning problems.

I can only suggest who *not* to choose. Remedy Pest Control in St. Charles is awful. I'll be dropping them as soon as my contract is up.
