Evan, Taichung is cycling paradise because gorgeous empty mountains are a few kilometers away, most of the year it doesn't rain, temps are mild in the winter and beautiful in the summer, roads are large, traffic is relatively sane compared to Tainan and Kaohsiung and crowded, cramped Taipei, and you are a couple of hours by train from good cycling routes in the north and south as well.
